The Samsung American Legion Scholarship is awarded annually. A $1000 Scholarship is awarded to each State Winner, with an additional 1 in 14 chance at approximately a $20,000 scholarship, based upon endowment proceeds. Must be of direct linage to a United States Military war time Service Veteran. Extra points awarded for direct linage to a United States Military Korean War Veteran.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Samsung North America, Mr. Bo-Soon Song, says his corporation wants to recognize " The sacrifices and commitment of U.S. servicemen and women. We believe this is the best way to show our appreciation to the United States and to U.S. Veterans."

Students must bring their completed applications with them to the Evergreen Boys State program complete with all required supporting documentation. Applications will be turned in on the evening of June 15, 2008 at a designated student session. No late applications will be accepted. All applications and supporting documents must be turned in at the designated meeting without exception.
