Representing the Governor's office, and speaking words of encouragement to the Citizens of the State of Evergreen was The First Gentleman, Mr. Mike Gregoire. Being related to two former Girls State Citizens, his wife The Governor and his daughter, The Evergreen Boys and Evergreen Girls State programs are well recognized in his family. Mike challenged the EBS Citizens to be the very best in the state.

Mr. John Lee, The Washington State Director of Veterans Affairs at Evergreen Boys State visited with the Citizens and encouraged them to plan the time when they will return service to their Country. "Not all will be the President or Governor but all can return service to our State and Nation."
